Basic Info

Bio
[info]zhongqing is the Chinese split-personality™ of [info]lilian_cho, who happens to adore Chinese stories, such as The Romance of Three Kingdoms, translated into English *weeps*. She's not going to shout "China is the best!"--as she is not her father, thank you very much. She does salivate over cheap cheap cheap Chinese books though.

Zhong Qing is a reference to two Chinese proverbs about love: "Yi Jian Zhong Qing"--Love at first sight and "Zhong Qing Yi Sheng"--Once in love, love eternal (She's currently too lazy to type up the appropriate Chinese characters now).

It's also a reference to one of the characters in Lilian's Chinese name. (Her given Chinese name is 鳳, but Phoenix is such a cliche that she didn't name this journal that.)

A huge freak fan of Antoine de Saint-Exupery's Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince), she has read four Chinese translations of it: 小王子 (Xiao Wangzi)--not necessarily understanding everything, mind. She has the book in multiple translations (original French, UK translation, 2000 American translation, two mainland Chinese translations, two Taiwanese translations, one Japanese translation and one in her mother tongue).

The pinnacle of her obsession love is I am Responsible for My Rose, a Harry Potter adaptation of Le Petit Prince with Snape as the pilot/narrator, Harry as the little prince, and Draco as the rose. Yes, Draco's a plant. One day she would like to translate her fanfiction into Chinese, to which end she had already reserved [info]43xiyang. Ahahaha, ever the optimist.

As she is taking Intensive Second Year Japanese this summer, she expects this will also give her a refresher on Chinese. *weeps* It's also interesting to compare Japanese kanji and the evolution of Chinese characters into what they are now: both traditional and simplified. Whenever she encounters such interesting comparisons, she will make random posts to exercise her nonexistent feeble Chinese muscles. There most likely will NOT be any Chinese translations of Lilian's posts, as the Chinese split-personality is even lazier than Lilian. So.

If for whatever reason you find this split-personality charming, go ahead and lurk. Or friend. The split-personality will probably friend you back, and will treat you like a friend as much as its split heart is capable of. If the split-personality goes AWOL and you misses her, leave a comment at [info]lilian_cho.

The split-personality doubts she will ever master enough Chinese to translate this bio somewhat into Chinese. We'll see.
